Leeds Liverpool Canal Bicentenary 2016
Blackburn’s forth ever canal festival which boasts to be bigger and
better, will be held at Eanam Wharf on
Saturday and Sunday 23rd - 24th July 2016.
The family fun weekend celebrating the history of the Leeds Liverpool
Canal and the importance that Eanam Wharf played in the development of
Blackburn will be packed with; tradition and modern dance, live and
recorded music, the Kennet historical barge, drama performances, face painting, bouncy castle, stalls
selling cakes sweets etc. food hawkers, canal boat trips, tradition and
artisan market stalls, football tournament, Classical summer evening concert,Traditional Canal Songs and poems performed by DAPA Blackburn & District Camera Club print exhibition of local area, The Kathleen Ferrier, Blackburn's first lady of song exhibition, and much much more.
