Blackburn’s Third ever canal festival which boasts to be bigger and
help volunteer at this year’s event or if you are a boater a would like to come
better, will be held at Eanam Wharf on Saturday and Sunday 18th - 19th July
2015. The family fun weekend celebrating the history of the Leeds Liverpool
Canal and the importance that Eanam Wharf played in the development of
Blackburn will be packed with; tradition and modern dance, live and
recorded music, the Kennet historical barge, drama performances, face painting, bouncy castle, stalls
selling cakes sweets etc. food hawkers, canal boat trips, tradition and
artisan market stalls, football tournament, Classical summer evening concert, the first ever 8MILE Canal Fun Run, Coulour Run, Traditional Canal Songs and poems performed by Sid Calderbank "The mon for dialect for song and dialect in Lancashire" assisted by pupils from DAPA and much much more.
